Everybody buys robes by GSM and GSM is only mass per square metre. A long loose loop and a short dense loop can weigh exactly the same and behave nothing alike once they are wet, so a number on its own tells you very little about how a robe actually performs.

What matters is the loop: how long it is, how densely it is set, and what the yarn is. A longer-staple cotton makes a loop that holds together through hundreds of wash cycles instead of shedding and going flat. We put the loop construction on the quote alongside the GSM, because one without the other is half the specification.

The other number we insist on is the post-wash length. Cotton terry shrinks on the first industrial wash, so the robe has to be cut oversized to land on the size you ordered. A supplier quoting pre-wash dimensions is quoting a garment you will never own.
